E. KERR Education: Mr. Kerr received a Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. In addition, he attended the Japan America Institute of Management Science in Honolulu. Experience: Mr. Kerr has over 35 years experience in the real estate development and construction industry on a vast array of project types including business hotels, resort hotels, office and commercial buildings, retail facilities, warehouses and industrial buildings, medical facilities, restaurants, office and retail tenant improvements, residential subdivisions, apartments, condominiums and luxury residential projects. Mr. Kerr’s international experience includes the construction of the Regent of Fiji Resort Hotel in Nadi, Fiji. Mr. Kerr’s expertise in project management is extensive. In the mid-80’s as Vice President of Project Management Operations for Hemmeter Development Corporation he recruited, trained and managed the project teams for the development and construction of three major resort hotels totaling 2,850 rooms, a Jack Nicklaus designed 36 hole golf resort, a major historic office building renovation, and two multi-million dollar luxury residences. These projects were developed simultaneously and were located on four separate islands. Mr. Kerr’s recent experience includes work in California, Nevada and Florida. He worked with Ledcor Construction, Inc., a large international contractor, on major projects including:
In addition to overseeing the above mentioned projects, Mr. Kerr was tasked with being the senior executive in charge for the formulation and execution of a business plan to start a new business line that spanned the 4 major construction entities within Ledcor (Vertical Construction, Horizontal Construction, LTS and Pipeline) with offices from Hawaii to North Carolina. Within a year of inception, the Federal Group had successfully won 5 projects in Hawaii, Colorado and Texas. The group’s inception required a tremendous amount of newly developed systems to be installed along with a separate compliance requirement. Mr. Kerr has extensive experience in claims and litigation. In the mid-70’s he was responsible for completing the construction of seven major projects for Great American Insurance Company. After the default of the original contractor Mr. Kerr provided the construction management for project completion and close out. The project close out involved several arbitrations and a major civil litigation. Mr. Kerr is a veteran having served with the U.S. Army as a Civil Engineer involved in facilities construction and maintenance for the U.S. Army Arctic Test Center, Fort Greely (Delta Junction), Alaska.
